Indian opener Virender Sehwag has said that he has recovered from the shoulder injury and is now fully fit to play in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2011. Sehwag
was excluded from the ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 because of an injury scare, arousing speculations that he might not achieve the required fitness before the World Cup starting on 19 February.
The Indian opener has clarified that he had opted out of the ODI series himself, as he had an eye on the mega event which he did not want to miss. Sehwag
said, "I didn't want to be injured during the South Africa tour and miss the World Cup. So I came back and went to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Germany-c2904 to visit doctors. I got a couple of injections and now I'm fine.”
Sehwag has been an integral part of the Indian limited overs setup as he is rated among the most dangerous opening batsmen. He had made his ODI debut against
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in 1999 and has played 228 ODI matches, scoring 7380 runs at a fair average of 34.64. He has scored 13 hundreds and 36 fifties.
Apart from his destructive batting, Sehwag is more than useful with his off-spinners, as he has taken 92 wickets in ODI cricket with best figures of four
wickets for just six runs.
The 32-year old batting maestro is geared up for the opening encounter against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in the 2007 World Cup to throw them out
of the competition. Sehwag is keen to take the revenge on Bangladesh in their homeland, as he said, "Because we're playing the opening game against them in Bangladesh, Bangladeshi people are expecting them to beat us again, but this time, we have prepared
well. You can say it is a revenge game for us and we won't take the game lightly. We will give our best shot and will come hard on Bangladesh."
