After helping his national side secure the coveted ICC World Cup 2011 trophy, the prolific opening batsman, Virender Sehwag had to miss out on the lucrative Indian Premier League due to a shoulder injury.
It was reported in the media earlier today, that the star batsman is ready to make a comeback to the national side for the tour of England.
Sehwag opted not to participate for his side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils, in the Indian premier league this month to undergo a shoulder surgery. The injury has plagued the opener since 2009.
Virender was also left out of his team’s next month’s tour of the Caribbean, but the batsman has vowed to make a comeback in the summer for the all-important tour of England.
Talking to an Indian Newspaper, Sehwag was quoted as saying, “I think I will be able to play the series in England.”
The 32-year-old player had been the leading run-scorer in the IPL, having scored 424 runs in just eleven matches before announcing that he will be taking a break from the game to undergo a shoulder operation, to deal with the nagging
injury.
Sehwag added, “I will return to London after six weeks for a check-up. I should be fit in six to eight weeks. Going by the rehabilitation programme designed for me, I should be okay. I am already feeling the difference each day.”
Virender has scored a total of 7694 international test runs at a staggering average of 53.43, while in One Day International matches he has been equally impressive scoring 7456 runs, at an even more impressive strike rate of 104.

Indian will begin their tour of England with a practice game against Somerset on the July 15 at Taunton, before heading to Lord’s for the first test on July 21.
England and India will also play a solitary T20 match and five ODIs on the tour.
