Virgin Media Broadband setup?

Hi, I have the new Virgin Media XL package and with up to 20mb broadband which is really lighting fast!

But in the set up it said I have to connect my router to the modem and that to the set top box....why is that??

Now my router is two rooms away from my computers and I have an ugly ethernet lead going through my corridor.

Why can't I have my router in the same room as my computers?? Not everyone has their computers and main TV's all in the same room.

Btw I have phoned VM several times and it didn't get me anywhere!

Cheers for any responses :-)

  1. You need to connect your modem to your router. You do not need to connect it to your set top box.

Set top boxes can not support the 20 meg service.
