Virgin Racing Team duo Glock, d’Ambrosio looking forward to 2011 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1
Virgin Racing team drivers Timo Glock and Jerome d’Ambrosio are looking forward to the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix, which will start from September 23, 2011 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Both of the drivers said that they are very excited about the 2011 Singapore race and that they believe they can show their best possible performances this weekend.
Timo Glock talked to the media and added that he is feeling great to be back in Singapore where he finished his race at the second position in 2009 for Formula 1 Team Toyota.
Talking to reporters, Glock said, “The Singapore Grand Prix is clearly one of the highlights of the year and my favourite track on the calendar.  Just the fact that it is a street circuit already makes it very demanding, but if we add the fact that it’s
a night race it just adds to the excitement.”
On the other hand, the German’s teammate d’Ambrosio said that he has very good memories from Singapore.
D’Ambrosio commented, “I have very good memories from Singapore - this time last year the team gave me the chance to jump into the car on Friday for the first time. One year later, I return to Singapore as a Formula 1 driver and having learned an incredible
amount in a very short space of time.”
Both of the drivers have failed to deliver their best show on the grid since the start of the 2011 Formula 1 season. VRT are still in the same place where they were at the start of the season.
In the 2011 Italian Grand Prix, the team driver Glock started his race from the 21st place on the grid and after putting all of his efforts, he ended up in the 15th spot behind Team Lotus driver Jarno Trulli.
The Belgian driver retired from the Monza race due to having a gearbox issue.
After taking part in 13 rounds of the season so far, VRT were placed at the 12th place in the 2011 constructors’ championship.
Let’s see how both of the drivers perform in Singapore this weekend following their disappointing result from the start of the season.
