Virgin drivers Glock, d’Ambrosio aiming to perform well in German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Virgin Racing Team drivers Timo Glock and Jerome d’Ambrosio are aiming to perform strongly in the upcoming German Grand Prix taking place on July 24, 2011 in Nürburgring.
After a disappointing race weekend in Silverstone recently, both of the drivers of the Virgin team are looking forward to a successful race in Nürburgring this weekend.
The team driver Glock said that he is very excited for the German race weekend, as it will be held on his home track. He is sure that he will get full support from the fans, family and friends during the German Grand Prix.
The German told the media that he has very special feelings at the moment, as he will drive at his home racetrack this weekend.
Apart from that, Virgin driver discussed his previous races in Nürburgring and said, “It’s great to be back at the Nürburgring, a track where I’ve enjoyed some very good races and a lot of success in the past in Formula BMW, F3 and GP2 as well as F1. The
track itself is good fun. The first part is quite technical and the rest is really quite easy to drive.”
The 29-year-old driver stated that he will try his best to give strong results to his team and the home crowd at the German race circuit.
His teammate d’Ambrosio is confident for the next race weekend. He added that he had a trouble-free race in Silverstone recently and the race results have given him a big boost for the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The 25-year-old driver said, “This circuit is known for its understeer, so during the practice sessions we will work hard to minimise this effect. But the biggest challenge will be to make sure the tyres stay up to temperature as the weather conditions here
aren’t usually very high.”
D’Ambrosio further said that after the British Grand Prix he is hoping for another positive race weekend in Germany.
Let’s see how both the drivers Glock and d’Ambrosio perform at Nürburgring this weekend.
