  1. Absolutely.  There are a lot of great resorts right next to the beach, fine dining, shopping, and nightlife to keep you busy.  It would be a great Honeymoon spot.

Where to stay depends on your budget and the kind of scenery.    The most posh resorts on the island are The Marriott Frenchman's Reef, The Ritz-Carlton and the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort.  The Wyndham is one of the only two all-inclusive resorts in the US Virgin Islands.

We only have two all-inclusive resorts in the USVI and they're both in St. Thomas.

The other all-inclusive is Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. It's more affordable but doesn't have all the posh amenities that Sugar Bay has. On the plus side, the rooms are right on the beach and you're close to Iggie's where something is always going on.

The Emerald Beach Hotel is right next to the airport and it's also on the beach.  If you find it's too pricy, right next door is the Island Beachcomber.

If being right next to a beach is no big deal, there's several other hotels you might want to consider.

  2. We just got back from the USVirgin islands and it's our favorite islands.

I am partial to St John because of the island being 2/3rds National Park land. You don't have big resorts lining the pristine beaches like other Caribbean islands. The Westin and Caneel Bay are the two big resorts on St John. However, there are many other options for lodging. Gallows Point is a condo type lodging property, they also have many B&B type places. We love renting a villa/house, with a pool or hot tub. You have more privacy and lots more room. This last time we rent a house high up on the mountain, what a view. You can see the BVI islands. We rented a jeep and explore the beautiful beaches on St John.

We also just stayed a few days on St Thomas, which is a very active island with excellent shopping and dining. We stayed at Secret Harbour Resort on the east side of the island. A very small resort with a very good restaurant  (Blue Moon Restaurant) Also condo type lodging. We rented a studio beach front condo and we loved it. What I really liked about this resort was the beach. We love to snorkel and we didn't have to go far or drive to enjoy the marine life. Also it's just a mile to many restaurants and the Red Hook ferry that takes you over to St John.

The USVI islands are also just a ferry ride away from the British Virgin islands. A must do since your so close.

The USVI are an excellent choice for a honeymoon. We met several couples who enjoyed their honeymoon in the islands. They are also plotting their way back as soon as possible. The islands are very addictive and what I consider a paradise.

Going on your honeymoon is a very special time. Check out all your options.

    Good Luck and congratulations.)

    p.s.

Dec 15th-April 15th is considered high season. The prices drop after the that and you can save alot of money.  Check out this site for rental villas. Click on Caribbean, it will take you to all the islands and the USVI. Very reliable site.
