Virgin media broadband?

how do i connect a different brand of wireless router/moden onto the Virgin Broadband network? the cable that connects to the 'original' router is not the normal ADSL connection, can anyone give some advice.

  1. You cannot connect another modem to their system it will not work. Buy reading your question am I assume that you have changed to cable from ADSL. If so it is only an ethernet connection now on the new modems and not USB.

    Can you update. Thanks. Actually if your on the L or XL package they will supply you with a wireless router free of charge.

    As I said and especially with cable modem they will not work because of the coding inside the modem. Also they lose their sense of humour very quickly if you connect other equipment to their system without permission and it causes problems.

  2. you need a cable router such as this as your tiscali wireless router will not work with a cable modem

    You keep the virgin cable modem and attach it to the router via an ethernet cable
