  1. Basically, it doesn't matter what download speed Virgin provide, downloading illegal material is just that - illegal. THe fast download speed is provided for legally downloading paid-for media.

The law is the law, and if they knowingly allow people to use their services illegally, then they're just as guilty. I personally would think of leaving Virgin if they DIDN'T report them.

Good on them for taking a stand.

  2. i personally think virgin media is not a good company its rubbish,i had internet with them it was so slow, the man who connected everything looked like he just wanted to run out of my house.virgin media is not treating customers fairly,i watched tv,a program called watchdog even said virgin media does froud. my mum signed with virgin and complained to get rid of their internet service they wouldnt get rid of that easily

  3. thankyou for letting me know this info.

i am a virgin customer and have both the cable tv and XL broadband, and they havn't sent me a letter to inform me of the situation, but thankfully  my 12 month contract ends in 3 weeks and after hearing this - i won't be extending my contract any further. well done virgin... this is just more nanny state nonsense, i don't want to be presumed guilty til proven innocent, nor do i want virgin to be sending my details to anyone else, nor do i want them watching over my shoulder like some overpaid stalkers.

  4. nt sure actually...if u bargain very well at the end of the contract you may get a good tariff for the price u pay

  5. just switch to a new company

  6. This just a follow up to news item a couple of days ago that the Entertainment business has now just won a Court Ruling in the US that the people who run You Tube and other sites have now got to hand over details of people putting up copyright and restricted material and the details of people downloading them.

It's going to be the biggest crackdown in History. Don't forget either the girl who was fined $62,000 in the US last year for copyright.
