  1. If you have a saver ticket you can go to Birmingham New Street and ask the ticket office to change your seat (this is free for a saver return). There will, be a coach E though. I've found the journey planner very useful.

  2. If they have reserved a seat for you in coach 'E' then it will have a coach 'E'

    If you look at http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/img/twu/se...

you'll see exactly where you are sitting.

  3. The first coach is letter  A  in the rake E the fifth coach I expect is near half way along the rake    No matter if you board the wrong one as you can walk between them

I suggest you spend an hour or two at New Street this weekend and  learning the fine points of  working trains, this will make you far more relaxed about your travels    Enjoy your trip

  4. Well, Virgin Pendolino trains have a coach E, but I don't think these trains are ever used on the Birmingham to Scotland routes.

Are you sure it is a Virgin train you're booked on and not a CrossCountry one, as both of these companies run trains from Birmingham to Edinburgh? (Booking via the Virgin website makes no difference to this, you could still be booked onto a CrossCountry train.)

If the train you're booked on is a CrossCountry HST train, then this does in fact have a coach E. These are longer trains than normal and are usually only used on Saturdays during the summer months, which is why they don't appear on the website.
