Virgin train ticket question...please help!!?

Hey i'm going t london on wednesday and on the way back i want to go via birmingham to see a friend, but my ticket is to manchester, can i go via birmingham on this ticket or will i be charged? any ideas?

Why not call Virgin and ask?

It depends on what ticket you've got. If it's a Value Advance, then you can only travel on the booked trains.

If it's one of the more flexible tickets (Saver or Open Return), then returning via Birmingham is perfectly valid.

i have NFC! but i didn't have to pay extra for my trip from London to Liverpool and my ticket was to Manchester have a safe trip
