Virginia DMV Question?

If you are buying Special Plates (military) in person at the DMV without personalization, do they give them to you right there or do they have to mail them to you, I know if you get them personalized they have to mail them to you which can take up to 60 days.

They should be able to give them to you on the spot.  I have ordered Clean Fuel and Fight Terrorism plates before without personalization and received both on the spot.
