Virginie Lagoutte-Clement takes daughter to Archerfield, determined to repeat 2010 performance
French Virginie Lagoutte-Clement, who won the 2010 Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, is going to participate in the event this year with her daughter by her side.
The tournament being played at Archerfield Links, from May 3-5, is going to feature several LET (Ladies European Tour) stars, with Virginie hoping to repeat the 2010 performance.
In addition to keeping an eye on her rivals on the course, the French star will also have to look after her daughter, Victoria.
Analysts said that although Virginie appears to be in a better form this year, and can give a tough time to her rivals, her three-year-old daughter is likely to keep her a little distracted.
However, the 33-year-old golfer was keen to point out during her pre-match interview at Archerfield, that she has had everything planned for her baby in Scotland, so that she will not have to worry about keeping an eye on her.
She said that before heading to events, she usually makes arrangements well before the schedule in order to take Victoria with her.
“I plan to bring Victoria where I know I will be able to find somebody and where it is easy to travel. After that, I contact some agency, hotel or people around the tournament site to find a nanny for the week,” Virginie shared.
When asked who looks after Victoria while she is busy playing events, the French star said that she has been quite lucky in terms of support from her husband, Seb, and has not faced any trouble.
“During tournament days, as it was my husband, Seb, who was on the bag during the last seven or eight years, Victoria is usually with the nanny we found for the week, but for practice, practice rounds and pro am, as it is a lot of money having a nanny,”
Virginie said.
She went on to say that Seb is very cooperative, as he has been playing a pivotal role in enabling her to pay attention to golf.
“Seb usually takes care of Victoria during these days. Sometimes some players look after her and help us,” the 33-year-old said.
