Virtua Tennis 4: The video game for the tennis experience – Tennis Special
The sequel of the best tennis game in world was released on May 2011 on all major platforms i.e. Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Windows. The game took tennis to a new height in the virtual world and has amazing
arcade and game play modes.
Sega developers had improved their franchise a lot as this new instalment is compatible with the Playstation Move accessory making it the first Virtua Tennis game to be compatible with the new device. VT4 is more realistic and
true to life as it is more than just hitting the ball. You can play with a racquet at your own lounge and with Playstation Move, gameplay take in account with the angle of the racquet, speed, power and the direction of the shot.
The new online hub provides the world’s first online tennis experience. The online mode gives players a fascinating adventure with the match making system from the Virtua fighter 5, makes the game more competitive. They will also
be able to interact better with each other. Tennis gamers now experience their dreams coming true since there are now more online competitions organized all over the world along with a competitive matchmaking system in the game.
This new instalment also supports the 3D technology making the game so realistic that it gives a feeling of playing on the court.
By adding these three features, it has silenced all the critiques who questioned them on their previous instalments, making Virtual Tennis 4 flawless.
The game also contains an all-star line-up of nineteen players which include the world number 1 of men singles, Novak Djokovic and world number 1 of women singles, Caroline Wozniacki. Some other top players include Rafael Nadal,
Andy Murray, Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Gael Monfils and Ana Ivanovic.
Some other features include; a brand new in-court dramatic feature of building up momentum to increase players form and build up their confidence.  The game also includes customizable mini games e.g. you can change weather conditions
etc. The game also has a feature where one can start a brand new career mode and each decision affect the career path meaning if you play for the second time, it won’t be same. However, it is needlessly complicated and difficult to roam around in it.
Virtua Tennis 4 has stayed true to its roots i.e. it focus on more arcade style game. It is a four match tournament which challenges one to its best. Spicing the game further, VT4 focuses more on exciting tennis action rather than
the stats and attributes of stars. The game play is fabulous just like in the previous versions and the graphics makes it a real deal. However, sound and presentation isn’t much impressive as music is very limited and the career mode is harder.
The mini games are back with a bang. Some of the popular ones include gathering chickens into a corner and playing hot potato with a time bomb.
There is a special treat for PS3 fans as the PS3 version has tennis legends playable including Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg and Pat Rafter.  This special version also includes two mini games: Pin Crusher and Net Blitz
In Pin Crusher; you scatter bowling pins through serves, and in Net Blitz; you score by returning balls into increasingly small nets.
The game is a must buy for everyone especially tennis fans as it features everything what they desire regarding tennis. It is a fun tennis game with lots of exciting mini games. Despite having a complex career mode, VT4 is a solid
arcade game. Furthermore, fans can play with their favourite tennis stars with the same styles and abilities their particular stars posses.
