Have not found a site that enables you to actually build your own golf course. That would be an awesome website. That's a great idea though and I bet there will be one soon. Maybe you should look into seeing what it takes to make a site like that. I'm sure if it was good enough and user friendly enough, all kinds of golfing websites would pay you money to put links on your site to theirs and that's how you could make your money.

As far as accomplishing something like building a virtual golf course, you should look into Google's Sketch Up application. It enables you to create 3D environments and there is no reason you couldn't build a golf course with that. Once you download and teach yourself how to use Sketch Up, you wouldn't have any problems at all and you could print your course out in full color afterwards to.
