Virtual classroom?

we are on the road in our motorhome and trying to homeschool a 13 year old and a 10 year old. books are heavy and we are getting too many. wish there was a way that they could just go on line. a site that will give them daily work, answer questions,you know,do our job for us.[ we have learned we are not teachers.please help

  1. If your home state allows virtual public schools, you could try that route.  If you don't have 'net access while on the road, you could stop at cafes/restaurants that do and download/upload lessons.

    You are not really homeschooling if you are not involved with your childrens' lessons.  Therefore, a virtual public school would probably be a good thing for you, but if you want the type with teachers attached to the system, it's going to cost you a LOT unless your state has the free ones.

    Even with virtual schools, the parents still have to be engaged with the childrens' learning.  You cannot just plop them down in front of a computer and say "learn".  Nor can you rely 100% on a virtual teacher.

  2. Here is a link to a lot of virtual high school and college programs.  My 17 year old just finished her diploma early and got college credits from the program at BYU.  She loved it, but is a very hard worker.
