Virus Problem with MobileGear products?

Question

I recently purchased at an electronics store at Singapore’s Changi Airport the Silver Webcam 2.2 from MobileGear.

The installation went fine well and the webcam worked well.

Now, some weeks later, the webcam does not work anymore.

I uninstalled and tried to re-install again, using the CD install disks.

That’s when the problems started…

My 3 installation attempts were unsuccessful and I received THREE Trojan Horse virus notices:

FixCamera.exe

FixC59.aa.rra

FixC5a6a.rra

Fortunately, my antivirus system did work well and successfully placed these 3 items in quarantine.

Has anybody an idea what happened?

Has anybody had similar problems with MobileGear products?

Can this situation be remedied, i.e. is there a way to install the webcam anyhow?

Go to Mobilegear website and download clean drivers
