Virus help please I don't know what to do?

Ok. I was downloading a game from yahoo (which I won't be doing anymore, sorry yahoo) and I got an alert from Trend Micro saying that a trojan virus was quarantined. Then I got 4 more notifications after that of 4 more viruses. I ran Spysweeper and everything came out clean but when I try to look at the quartantined files, it won't let me clean, add, delete, or remove any files. I don't know what's wrong. I'm attempting tp scan my computer with trend but it's frozen at 42%. Also (and this is the worst most annoying part) I can't download ANYTHING from ANYWHERE. I tried to download AVG or Avast and I couldn't. I've tried to dl a lot of things and nothing works. I get the "run" screen, it completes the dl process, but then nothing happens and it hasn't been downloaded. What should I do?

DO NOT DO A SYTEM RESTORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to that guy, but a virus like the one you have will most likely just use that to infect even more files.

Spysweeper won't work, because it doesn't look for virus'. It looks for spywear.

If you know a little about computers, I would suggest going into windows explorer (right click start, and choose explore) then go to windows, system32. This will bring up a whole list of files and such. Anything that has alot of capitals and numbers and lowercase, like someone speaking leet ( ex: P@l@d1n) is most likely a virus. If the word doesn't make sense, like it's just a random string of characters, or if it is something like: B0BsSuperFunT1me it's a virus.

Other than that, take it in somewhere, or go buy a virus removal disk.

If worst comes to worse, buy some memory sticks (they are cheap) and take everything you want to keep off your computer, then format it, and re-install windows.

Try to do a system restore to a date earlier than when the events you listed occurred.

If it is in quarantine you do not have to do anything else. but it sounds as if you still have a virus. Or spyware. Trend Micro does not get everything. AVG is a much better anti virus. http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti...  

Also SpySweeper by no means gets all of the spyware & adware. Try running Spybot  and Adaware  as well.

First of all, I will like to recommend Kaspersky Internet security (not the anti-virus version) but specifically INTERNET SECURITY as an anti virus for your system to be downloaded from the internet (http://www.kasperskycom) any version is okay. but make sure its internet security not anti virus, again. However, since you can't download anything with that laptop from the internet, I will suggest that you download using a friends' computer and then save to a flash drive from which u can install to ur laptop.(just in case, if it cant be installed normally, restart the laptop and press F8 (for microsoft windows) immediately it turns on, then select start in safe mode option.After booting to safe mode, then try reinstalling it again. Restart your computer,press F8 when you see your screen.Choose safe mode and then try to run a scan with trend micro.If it won't scan in safe mode,restart your computer and choose safe mode with networking.Go to www.threatfire.com and get free threatfire.Install it and run a full scan.

try getting into safe mode with networking by pressing f8 whille the computer boots, youll get an option to boot into safe mode with networking choose that, and download the following:

try using an alternate browser if you can, im guessing your using IE? if you have firefox try downloading from that, for future refference i would use avg free, spybot s&d, windows defender/ad aware se and comodo firewall, all are free and work great together. as the others said you might want to restore to an earlier backup.

In your situation, there are a few options you can choose.



1) Reformat your hard disk and reinstall your Windows, which you can leave it as

a last resort.



2) Take out your hard disk and install as a secondary drive in another PC that

have a good anti-virus program. Boot up on that PC and scan your infected hard

disk.



3) You can install Clamwin anti-virus.

software. It can detect and remove more than 400,000 Trojans and viruses.



There is a portable version of ClamWin anti-virus where it can be install into

an USB pen drive as small as 64 MB.



First, you use another PC to download Clamwin portable anti-virus  

and install Clamwin portable on a USB pen drive.

Start Clamwin anti-virus and update the latest anti-virus definition files.

When the USB pen drive is ready to be use.



Start the infected PC in safe mode by pressing F8 during start up.



If possible, disable system restore on the infected PC.



Run the Clamwin Anti-virus that is installed on the USB pen drive to scan the

infected PC.



After removing the virus, install c**p cleaner (ccleaner) to get rid of the

viruses left over setting in the windows registry.

get someone who knows alot about computers, get them to take your computer back to the last safe-save this is a save of all your system settings that is done automatically every month by the computer abd it does not save viruses
