  1. Viruses generally don't work on the Wii, as it operates quite differently from Windows and other Operating Systems.

And as far as I know, nobody has wasted their time on creating a Wii-specific virus. It wouldn't be practical, as there is little to gain.

And as far as  know there aren't any Wii-specific anti-virus programs either.

  2. Possible: Yes. Probable ever: No.

Viruses have to be written for a specific browser and operating system combination. So the virus would have to be written specifically for the Wii's version of the Opera browser. Not exactly a large group of potential infections. And the fact the Wii doesn't allow downloads would be another hurdle they'd have to work around.

Also, virus writers are typically looking for private data that can be used to make money. The only way they'd get that on Wii is if the Wii owner uses their credit card to buy Wii Points. But anyone who does that would be someone who also uses their credit card to buy stuff online on their PC, so why not attack the PC?

  3. i dont think the wii can get a virus because you cant download files (i mean games from websites)

  4. Since a virus needs a hard drive, and the Wii doesn't have one, viruses cannot survive on the Wii. Also, due to Nintendo's encryption software, viruses can't even do anything. Rogue hackers don't even bother, as a Wii virus would have virtually no payoff.

So no, your Wii cannot be infected with a virus.

  5. Its possible if you have the internet channel or are connected to the internet. As of 2008 there are only 5 wii viruses.

  6. your not gonna get a virus. there is no way it could happen
