Virus infection thru home network.?

can the network of pc be infected if all are firewalled and anti virus installed except for one.

if that particular unprotected one is infected, will it spread to others?

  1. if only one is not protected, ten this only one is in danger.

    if this one is infected then it may try to infect the other PC's, but normally it cannot. it all depends how powerful is your protection is.


  2. yes, virus are application can transmited to any media such thumbnail drive or disk or even network ,but if you have a good updated antivirus so  the risk of viruses are minimum.


  3. It depends on the type of virus and how it operates.

    If the other computers have shared folders with write access or blank passwords for the "Admninistrator" account or other administrative accounts, or accounts with write access to the shared folders, then yes, an infection can theoretically occur, especially if shared folders are mapped.

    As a word of warning: each drive has an administrative-only network share by default, whether you like it or not. This option can be disabled, but it isn't on most PCs.
