I've searched around and it says that when you buy Norton or AVG you'll have to renew it, but why would you have renew if you bought the disc for like $100 dollars already?

  1. the reason why you have to keep getting new anti virus programs is because the evil programmers keep writing new viruses

avg is a excellent anti virus and it has a free version also the yahoo tool bar has free anti spy as well

  2. Try Avast Home edition, its free and works better than the paid stuff. I had Norton, I thought it worked fine, but it slowed my PC a lot. After it was gone I could actually feel myself moving around the computer faster.

  3. Oh no Jenni please don't pay

You can get AVG Free and Legal here -

suggest you avoid Norton but you will find lots of other links to Avast and other free AV programmes to your question.

Avira is good but has lots of irritating ads

For me AVG is easiest to use and Avast is better but requires a bit more knowledge

You will be fine but don't pay

  4. Because they have to be g*y and waste your money. They don't care what is on your computer.

Try a FREE Antivirus that's good

    free-av.com

I don't think Avira is g*y, I think AVG, McAfee and DEFINATELY Norton are. Avira is AWESOME!

  5. Try AVG. it is FREE. Link is Below. Some Programs that WILL Help.

I have Both AVG and Spybot on my computer.  Both Programs are for FREE!!!!   As far as AVAST, i feel AVG is more user friendly.

    AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5.519

    Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2

    Avast

    Good Luck

  6. A Norton License is not forever - typically they are for one year. AVG  does have a free version (which I do not recommend).

Norton is a resource hog - I would recommend Avast (free).
