Virus protection ending

My Norton virus protection is ending in 4 days. I don't want to pay for a new one or renew my subscription for 60 dollars. Until my uncle comes over in about 2 weeks he is going to get me a new norton CD. If i dont use my computer after the virus protection software expires can viruses still attack? Do you recommend any free virus protection softwares that DONT include viruses when you download? Thank-you.

  1. I have used Grisoft AVG for 5 years as the free version. It works very well and of course I would not be using it if it had built -in problems. Save your Uncle the money and get your computer speed faster by removing Norton AV. You will be amazed how much CPU and RAM is freed up by removing it.  http://free.grisoft.com

  2. Check out the right column at http://ljungwall.googlepages.com/home

  3. Free programs have a spotty history, although spyware scanners (which have free versions taht are effective) are a happy exception.  Obviously viruses can't attack a machine that's not in use.

  4. I suggest you try Avira or Avast.  Both are freely available at www.download.com, and are highly recommended by various computer user groups.

    HTH!

  5. Norton is not too god

go to this website where you ca get an antivirus that you would normally pay for all free

just go in the antivirus section

    but you got to join
