i ahve windows vista and this afternoon i was downloading a file, when i extracted that downloaded file it turned out to be a virus, but my internet security said it quarantine the file, and i went to the quaranine and deleted the quaratined files. after that my computer still acted a bit funny, and even now it does. i noticed that when i went into msconfig(startup programs) i see two program ticked that i've never seen before, here they are:

Start up item: MSServer

manufactorer: unknown

command: rundll32.exe

Start up item: 74ab4f6e

manufactorer: unknown

command: rundll32.exe

i read abot this particular file and it says it could be an important file OR it could also be a virus. so what should i do, they are located in windows, system32. should i delete these two files?? by he wayeverytime i untick them and close msconfig, then reopen it these files are ticked again, i tried 10 times and they still come back.

  1. as for my experience, i think i already experience same as your problem dude... before when i did erase it without knowing the consequences, my pc did not boot at all. then one of my friend told me not to do such thing, he told me that in order to get rid off viruses, spyware, adware etc... you need to have a good antivirus and antispyware in ur PC. Try using SpyBot Search&Destroy or try using Avast antivirus or windows defender... and after you scan your PC and found a virus or infected files, before you decide to delete it you must first consult to a trusted technician or just search in the net some articles regarding to those files. Or you can delete it using ur antivirus then download the same file in DLL-files.com and copy paste it in system32 folder.

That's all dude, hoping it will help solve your problem... Goodluck....

  2. Your antivirus software may remove these start up items when you next restart your pc as they are currently in the system memory; or try another good scanner such as superantispyware - free here
