Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball International Tournament pools anounced

The first day of action at the 2011 Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball Tournament is scheduled to be staged Tuesday, August 9th. 24 women’s pairs from 15 countries have installed their bases in the beautiful city of London. The Federation International de Volleyball
(FIVB) and the London Organising Committee of Olympic Games has especially arranged this women’s exhibition beach volleyball tournament to give a taste of the 2012 London Olympic Games to players and fans as well. The 6-day test event is set to go on from
August 9-15. The famous Horse Guards Parade will facilitate the participating teams and beach volleyball enthusiasts.
The grid of 24 teams has been split into six pools, while each pool contains four teams. According to the set-formula of competition, two matches will be played in each pool per day. The first round of the tournament will cover its length in the first three
days (August 9-11). Two top-ranked teams of every pool will advance to the next round of super-16. They will be joined by two other teams with comparatively better rankings. Moreover, two teams will get to the 16-team round via Lucky Loser matches. Let’s have
a look at the pool standings of the 2011 Visa FIVB Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Pool A
Pool A is comprised of teams from Great Britain, China, Portugal, and Australia. Chinese duo of Wang Fan/ Y.Y. Ma will open the tournament by taking on Portugal’s Santiago Yarleen/ Acevedo. The second match of the day will feature home team of Shauna Mullin/
Zara Dampney and Aussie pairing of Clancy/ Hynes.
Pool B
Elwin/ Matauatu of Vanuatu, Roubanis/ Papageorgiou of Greece, China’s 2nd-seeded Chen Xue/ Zhang Xi, and Dutch tandem of Sinnema/ Wiltens have been placed in Pool B of the tournament. Teams from Vanuatu and Greece will contest their game skills
in the first match, while Chinese side will surely come hard on Netherland’s team in the second match.
Pool C
American third-seeded duo of Jennifer Kessy and April Ross will be accompanied by three other teams from Uganda, Canada, and Spain. In the first encounter of Pool C, Canadian MacTavish/ Rodrigue will put up against Spanish team of Graumann/ Anu. The second
match will feature Kessy/ Ross of USA against an average Ugandan team of Nammanda/ Alice.
Pool D
Following four pairs will play under the tag of Pool D:

Vivian-Lima – Brazil Hunkus-Lowe - USA Boulton-Johns - GBR Broder-Voth - Canada
Canadian team will open the tournament in Pool D when they take on hosts. Likewise the second match will played between Brazilian and American contenders.
Pool E
Bansley-Maloney of Canada are the big names in action when they clash against Malaysian Shun Thing-Teck] Hua in the first match. Australia’s Cook-Hinchley will put up with Simon-Andrea of Spain in the following match.
Pool F
American Hochevar-Rutledge, China’s Zhang CH. N.-Ding Jingjing, Candelas-Garcia of Mexico and Lili-Vieira of Brazil have been grouped together in Pool F.
