Question:

Visa Requirements to Mexico?

Hi.

I'm actually asking for a friend.

He was born in Vietnam, now currently studying in the U.S under an F-1 Visa for about 6 months.

Does that make him an Alien Resident?

I would like to know if he needs to obtain a Tourist Visa or whether the Tourist Card would suffice.

Thanks

  1. You friend is NOT an alien resident of the U.S.  An alien resident is a person who has applied to immigrate to the U.S. and who has a permanent resident "green card."  He simply has a student visa.  He DOES need to apply for a visa to visit Mexico...he cannot just get a tourist cared like you can.  He needs to contact the nearest Mexican consulate to apply for a visa.  See below for list of consulates in the U.S.

  2. When you go into Mexico they don't even ask for any ID let alone a visa

  3. If he is from Vietnam he will need a visa. Tell him to go to the mexican embassy with his passport and some money. They give him the visa there. Its the only way.

  4. www.sre.gob.mx
