Visa complications delays Abdur Rehman’s Somerset stint- Cricket News Update

The English county has been dogged by issues pertaining to their overseas players. The county announced the inclusion of the left-arm spinner to replace http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013.
The 32-year-old spinner has been signed as cover for Irishman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 Under-19 squad for the upcoming World Cup.
Abdur Rehman had an impressive debut to his international career against a strong South African side in 2007, where he picked 8 wickets in the match. However, he was soon dropped from the side and had to wait for another three years for his next call.
He earned considerable success on his return, putting in some sterling performances to carve a more permanent place in the national team.
He has formed a formidable spin partnership with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859 which rattled the English side by a three-nil margin. The Green Shirts earned their first ever whitewash over the visitors, where the 32-year-old took 19 wickets in the series.
The spinner has already signed the contract and the county club has submitted the no objection certificate with the British consulate. However, it is believed that the recent Passport scandal involving the Pakistani Olympic contingent might have caused the
delay.
“We’re told he’s been granted a visa and I have the visa number but he has not yet received it,” said Brian Rose, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843 director of cricket.
“Until he receives it we can’t say when he’ll be arriving. We’ve emailed the British embassy in Islamabad in the hope that might speed things up, but at the moment we don’t have an arrival date,” Rose concluded.
