  1. We need more information to answer the question.  What country are you from?  Where are you living & where do you want to visit?

Edit: you'll need a visa, you can apply for what's known as a Schengen visa - Schengen is a common travel area between several of the EU countries (the UK & Ireland are not part of this).  The Schengen visa should cover you to travel in France & Italy.

  2. What is your nationality?

If you are from NZ, Canada or Australia, then no.

Where do you want to travel? and for how long?

Most countries can stay between 30 to 90 days, with 90 days being the general visa time. This is generally for the Schengen Agreement, which includes most EU and some non EU countries. The UK is not within the Schengen Zone.

Let's say you are an American, you arrive in Paris on August 1st, you can travel up to 90 days visa free within the Schengen Zone, even to Poland, Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland. However, if you go to the UK for a weekend trip, you have officially exited the Schengen Zone. This means that when you re-enter, the 90 days starts again.

Belarus, Ukraine, and Turkey require visas . .  and some can be a long process, or simple obtained at the airport.  Please be more specific and we can be more specific.

    Edit:

Unfortunately, Great Britain, is not a member of the Schengen agreement, granting free travel throughout the different EU-countries. Therefore this does not apply, as it does for Finland, being a Schengen member.

@ Michael: The requirement for a visa is also dependent on the nationality/citizenship.

  4. Hello there!, I'm from Israel, I live in Helsinki and I know that as far you are traveling in the European Union countries you don't need visa at all.  All the best for you and be successful in everything you do.
