I am a US citizen and planning on getting married my girlfriend in my former country. My question is how long is it going to take for her to get visa. I know I have to filed I-130 for her after I get married to bring her to US. I just wanna know approximately how long is it going to take for her to get the visa so she can come and live with me?

  1. It's going to take 8-12 months, and it's possible that it might take longer. It takes USCIS at least 6 months to process and approve the petition, then it goes to the National Visa Center for additional processing, and then on to the embassy. Take care to fill out the petition completely and respond quickly when you hear from the NVC.

  3. Depends on what country she lives at---there are various stipulations for various countries, i.e. Russia, Albana, Uzbekistan, etc.etc.  Maybe you can apply for a fiance visa for her---this way she can come on your merit--I know a lot of people who did that.  They came over on a fiance visa and then got married here....takes about 90 days to get it...
