me and my fiance are taking a cruise in Europe in July. The cruise takes off from Italy and my fiance needs to get a schengen visa but the italian consulate gave us an appointment for next month which will be too late. Can we get a visa from any other of the european countries we will be stopping at? and if not, are we able to do anything to speed up our appointment with the consulate?

  1. the schengen visa must be issued by the embassy of the country you plan to entry first. That means if you want to get an appointment earlier in one of the other "Schengen-Countries" you must proof that you are planning to have there holidays as well. - speeding up your appointment. Since you booked your cruise with an agency they should be able to assist you with this problem because they want to sell to you in future as well. Or just call the Italians again and explain your situation and I am quite sure that they will help you.
