Question:

Visa to Turkey?

Hi there,

Me and my husband are travelling to Turkey for 1 day on a cruise. We're from an EU country. We were told by the Embassy that we'd need to apply for a visa at the port once we disembark, which we thought was a waste of time and quite unusual!

Does anyone know about this?

Thanks

  1. Yes you will need a visa but it is just a piece of paper with your name nationality and passport number. However you will if you are British also have to pay £10 each in sterling and a £20 note between you is no good it has to be 2 tenners.

  2. Under worst conditions u have to spend 20 mins in a queue of visa applying ppl and 1 min to get the actual visa. U of course have the choice not to leave the vessel

I have been to Tunisia as well, and i dont see much similarities with them. Tho Maltese people are Berber speaking Arabs, I havent been to Malta but u and Tunisians are probably much more similar

  3. Yes there is a visa formality at the point of entry, also for EU citizens. You just have to pay a small fee. It is for reciprocity only, because EU countries require visas for Turks.

  4. hello im from malta in europe i visited some countries in north africa i came from tunisia yesterday believe me turkey is a very nice country different culture turkey and tunisia are 98% the same thing so i think it will be worth it
