i am filipino, i have a german boyfriend who lives and works in japan for 8 years now. we're planning to visit his family in germany and since im filipino, i need a visa. my boyfriend will be taking care of the expenses but he isnt able to get an affidavit of support because according to the embassy, it has to come from someone living in germany. his mom offered to invite me and get the affidavit instead.. but how would that look like for the embassy? i dont think they will believe that his mother is paying for our stay there so please give me some advice on how to get around this..

thanks in advance!

  1. You should be fine.

My mother provided the formal letter of invite so I could bring an Indian friend of mine to the UK for christmas when I couldn't provide it because I was living in Germany at the time and there was no problem.

  2. Hi! I don't think the embassy really even cares about who is sponsoring you. They just want something in writing that insures that you have someone to help in case you need it. I wouldn't worry about it. If she is willing to fill the forms then it will be easy. Just be sure that before you submit the form she fills that she meets the income requirements otherwise you won't get accepted. Safe travels.

  3. yes

  4. then his mother can send the invitation and financial affidavit , it will be okay ,

the embassy does not care who invites you , once she has signed the affidavit? she will be responsible for you in the eyes of the gov. of Germany.

    it is okay .
