  1. The USCIS has a database of the number of B2 visas applied for and approved for each country. They also have a database of the number of those visas arriving at POE's all over the country and that of those Departing on-time. (They scan your visa upon entry and the I-94 for exit)

Based on this data, they now know what nationalities are prone to overstaying their visas and being an illegal alien in the US. These stats are used to define the parameters for visa issuance in those countries.**

  2. The main reason is that there are almost 2,000,000 Filipinos who came to the United States as visitors, all swearing to the US consular officer they'd come back to the Philippines, but decided to go TNT in the United States once they got there.  There are almost no Japanese, Brits and Australians who do this.

  3. The more likely a "visitor" is to return to their country of origin, the me likely they will be granted a visa.  Since the Philippines is a "Developing Nation" there is much stronger motivation for them to overstay their visas, and become illegal in the US.  The removal process is more difficult than the visa denial process, so by not giving the visa in the first place, they avoid a possible hassle.

  4. I'm from Philippines but didn't have any problems with processings. We didn't use lawyer at all.  I got my visa right away without any questions again.

  5. the biggest problem is that they don't meet the requirements, in order for someone here in the Philippines to get a tourist visa they have to have a "FAT" bank account, own property, have a good stable job and provide a letter that they can have leave time and when they return will have their job. If your referring to a single lady then that's almost impossible as she is considered a flight risk, so if you are thinking of trying to get a girl friend to visit it won't happen, the best is to come here and meet her and then you can apply for a K1 visa and it takes around 6 months to get, which of course you will have to marry her within 90 days after she arrives. Hope this helps
