The spirited Boy’s Singles shuttler Vishal R Bhat continued his unbeatable run in Belgaum 3 Star Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament and marched into the quarter-final round on September 3, 2012.
He performed his given role to perfection and thrashed Sagar Saunshi with a favourable result of 23-21, 14-21 and 21-15.
Now he is scheduled to meet Mithun Manjunath in the next round and a win will take him into semi-finals of the event.
The second seeded shuttler Vishal employ all of his brilliance and experience which he has gained through a splendid run in the preliminary rounds.
In the pre quarter-final round, he played his heart out in opening game and bagged a vital match point.
Vishal started the beating from the very first stroke and kept on playing with authoritative approach all the way to final moments.
He established a respectable lead in no time and made the best out of this advantage to place a mountainous total of 11 before the interval.
Later part of the game saw him making some fatal mistakes which allowed the opposing shuttler to counter-balance the situation.
Sagar matched his rival’s skills but luck was not on his side and he had to kneel down after reading 21-23 score on the board.
However, he made amends in the very next game and managed to stay alive in the contest.
This time he changed the tactics and confounded his challenger with a fine blend of power packed smashes and deceiving drop net shots.

He injected more intensity in his attack and cornered Vishal also in the later part of the game. He maintained the upper hand until the last shot was played and swept the table with a 21-14 margin.
The decider became consequential with this revised status as both contenders were looking to pocket final match point to ensure their presence in the round of eight.
They remained close until mid-game break but then Vishal tipped the scale in his favour by showing some good finishing skills. He raised hands as Champion after piling up an overwhelming figure of 21-15.
