Ok... I just recently purchased a 32" Vizio LCD HDTV. We have the highest quality Cable box (dual Turner DVR), a HDMI Cable and all the Jazz to make it better but it still gets blurry with motion. PERFECT picture when there is not much movement, and ONLY the channels in HD come in clear. The others are HORRIBLE, not ok, HORRIBLE... We have swapped out all the cables and everything and have come to the conclusion that it HAS to be the TV. Would this mean I need a TV with a larger contrast Ratio to help with the objects being blurry with motion, or more resolution??? What do you think??

  1. It is the TV.  Visio is ...... well ..... not the best of TVs.   Many manufacturers include circuits to correct for blurring on motion scenes.  It is not the contrast ratio that is involved with this problem nor a resolution problem.   Your Visio probably has a refresh rate of 60 Hz/sec.  This is the number of times the picture is presented on the screen each second.   A refresh rate of 120 Hz is available on many sets.   A faster refresh rate helps cut down on motion blur.  Also your set may be lacking some of the circuits that help correct for blurring on fast motion scenes.   I would check out Sony, Sharp, Panasonic or Pioneer.  They will be more expensive but will give you a better picture.

Also check out the different brand names with a side by side comparison of 720p resolution vs. 1080p.  You will find that if you were not told which is which you may not notice a difference in the pictures.  At normal viewing distances it is nearly impossible to tell the difference.  Resolution becomes more important the larger the screen size.
