what power contact lens is needed to correct the vision of a person who has a far point of 1.00 m? If this person has a normal 8.00% ability to accommodate (increase) the power of her eyes, what is the closest object she will be able to see clearly with contacts on?

  1. Accommodation is in units of diopters, not percents. Assuming 8 diopters accommodation, and that the contacts correct her far point to infinity, she will be need a -1 diopter correction and will able to focus down to 1/8 m.
