Question:

Vision problem?

I've had this vision problem come up a few times the last couple of years and it's starting to concern me.

What happens is that all of a sudden I feel lightheaded and sometimes have bad vertigo -- it almost feels like I'm going to faint. The episode ends very quickly and usually I just have to sit down for a while to regain my balance.

The first time this happened, my vision started having little spots of black and then full on black out of vision.

The second time, my vision didn't spot, but just quickly blacked out.

The third time this happened, I felt very lightheaded and my vision changed quickly between kinda blacking out and my vision becoming much brighter. I wasn't able to focus on anything else.

Here's a picture to describe how my vision becomes more sensitive to light -- the darker is what's normal, the lighter is what happens to me. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/obhwfgirl/untitled-1.jpg

Thanks for your help!

  1. i agree that this sounds like a potential blood pressure problem...but not  a HIGH blood pressure problem.  much more likely IMO to be a LOW blood pressure problems like postural hypotension:

  2. By most of your symptoms, it sounds more like an occaissional high blood pressure problem, more than an actual visual problem.

The visual effects you got can all be caused by a spike in your blood pressure...that may be something you want to get checked out.
