I suppose corrected vision to 20/20 is fine, but how about COLOR vision? Can you be color blind or no? (For commercial airplanes) thanks.

  1. No. color blindness will keep you from working as a commercial pilot.  My husband was one and our son could not because of color blindness

  2. I am color blind and I am a pilot.  Being color blind means you will have a restriction on your medical that prohibits night flight and flight by color signal.  However, you can [and I have] take a light signal test with the FAA to get the restriction removed.
