What exactly is a vision and should a vision be interpreted in the same way as an ordinary dream or should it only be looked at from a spiritual point of view only?

  1. Hi Pink!

    From what I was taught, the difference between a vision and a dream

    is that a vision requires little or no interpretation.

    There are a lot of good books on Biblical interpretation;

    Understanding the Dreams You Dream by Ira Milligan

    Dream Language by James Goll

    When God Speaks by Chuck Pierce

    Hippo In The Garden by James Ryle

  2. great question!

    Make sure you are talking a but a 'trance vision' and not a 'waking dream'.

    In a 'trance vision you are awake and your eyes are either closed or open. You have previously been awake.'  A 'waking dream usually occurs when you have been sleep deprived or had unusually disrupted sleep. You start out asleep,but wake and continue to experience vivid dream images and sometimes move from the bed or act-out the dream."

    As to interpreting; there are various traditions or belief systems that interpret dream/trance and art images in different ways.

    For example one dream interpretation belief is that a house represents the self and that animals represent protection.  I personaly would apply that to visions and artwork as well as dreams, but I'm not doing it for a living.

  3. Visions can be interpreted in the same way as dreams, but it depends on the vision. Sometimes (rarely) visions will frankly give you a meaning.
