  1. Egyptian citizens who wish to travel to Switzerland must obtain a visa. Visa applications must be presented to the Swiss Embassy in Cairo during the opening hours of the visa section. Most visa applications are processed within 24 hours.

Opening hours for applications: Sunday-Thursday 08h00-11h00.

Collecting passports/visa: within three working days between 14h00 and 15h00, except Thursdays. On Thursdays passports/visas can be collected between 13h00 and 14h00.

As an alternative to picking up the applications form at the Visa Section of the Embassy, you may download it. Visa forms must be filled out in either German, French, Italian or English.

In accordance with the agreement of November 6th, 1963, between Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, Swiss entry regulations also apply to applications for entering the Principality of Liechtenstein.

    Fees

Visa fee (for all types of visa up to one year validity):

CHF 55.-  for adults and children

(If children under 18 years old are included in a parent’s passport, no additional fee is due for their visa.)

The fee is payable in Egyptian Pounds according to the daily exchange rate.

Please note that the visa fee is due when handling in the application. This is a non-refundable payment. The money will not be reimbursed if the visa is refused.

Each application is checked individually and no guarantee can be given that a visa will be issued. The Embassy cannot be held responsible for costs involved when a visa is refused. Please note that in certain cases the application has to be submitted to the authorities in Switzerland. It may take 8 to 12 weeks until a decision is given to the Embassy.

Please note that no deposit or money transfer is required - neither in Switzerland nor in Egypt - to obtain a visitor's visa. The visa fee of 55 Swiss Francs (payable in Egyptian Pounds) is the only amount to be paid when handing in the visa application at our visa counter

  2. Visas are required for stays of 3 months or more. If you hold a valid permanent residence certificate of an EU or EFTA country, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada or the USA and some other countries do not need a visa.More you can check with the nearest Swiss Embassy or Consulate.
