  1. Oktoberfest in Munich!

    http://www.oktoberfest.de/en/

  2. Go to a Border's bookstore and get a book, or order it on-line. It has the best places to see, with maps. Rent a car and race on. Have a local beer or two, but not much more!

  3. autobahn.. duh

  4. coolset place in the world . autobahn go as FAST as you can

  5. What do you care about?

Castles?  There are castles all over the country, but some of the best include Burg Eltz in the Mosel Valley, the Wartburg in Eisenach, Heidelberg Castle.  You might also care about visiting the fantasy castles of Ludwig in Bavaria - Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Herrenchimesee.  And Hohenschwangau, where he grew up.

Beer?  Wine?  Most areas have their own beer - spend some time trying Koelsch in the Koln area, Berliner Weisse in Berlin, visit a Biergarten in Bavaria, or just ask what the local brew is.  Try a great Reisling in the Mosel or Rhine valley, a drier wine in Baden Wurtemburg (maybe a Red - Dornfelder or Spaetburgunder) or one of the Franken wines in the Bochboutel.

Visit a medieval town. Rothenburg ob du Tauber is famous, but check out Goslar, Quendlinburg.

Like History?  Try Trier and Koeln, where the Romans set up thousands of years ago.  Visit the Kaiserpfaltz in Goslar, where the Holy Roman Emperor was run.  Stop into Buchenwald, Dachau, Sachsenhausen to try to understand the worst genocide in our history - the Holocaust.  Visit the great German History museum in Bonn, or the Jewish Museum in Berlin.  Walk the streets where the Berlin wall stood, visit Checkpoint Charlie, in Berlin.  Visit Dresden, Leipzig, and see a bit of the history of the former Soviet Block.  Wittenburg has a neat history museum that helps you understand what daily life was like under Communism.

Like Art?  It seems that every town in Germany has an art Gallery.  Try the Neue and Alte Pinakoteks in Munich, the many museums in Berlin with art from ancient to modern times.  Visit the Monchehaus in Goslar.

Want cultural treasures?  Many of the places I've listed are UNESCO World Heritage sights.

Want to party with the people - visit a wine festival on the Rhine or Mosel, maybe the Rhine in Flammen festival.  Catch the festivities on German Unity Day, go to Oktoberfest or better yet a village beer festival somewhere else.  Go to a Christmas Market in one of the big towns, Dresden or Nurnberg, or Reformation Day in Wittenburg.

Interested in Religon? Visit Wittenburg, where the Reformation was born, or Erfurt where Luther spent time in the Monastery.

Care about architecture?  Catch the stunning Gothic cathedral in Koeln, the Romanesque churches in the same city.  Visit the Reichstag with it's modern dome, and the Liebeskind Jewish Museum.

Check out one of the greatest transport systems in the world!

I could go on and on, but I won't.  And there is so much of Germany I have yet to see!!!
