The US Open has just finished and we have a new champion, Webb Simpson. Next up around the corner is the Travelers championship.
This year many household names are participating. Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley, the defending champion Fredrik Jacobson, Vijay Singh and the freshly crowned US Open champion Webb Simpson will all be there.
There will be quite a few international appearances as well. With people like Angel Cabrera, Louis Oosthuizen and Camilo Villegas participating, this will surely be a great sporting fixture.
All of them will be having a go at the $6,000,000 Travelers Championship.
Travelers Championship officially started hours after the closing ceremony of US Open, at the TPC River Highlands.
At the TPC River Highlands, there are numerous activities in which one can indulge. All these activities are designed in such a way that all sorts of people enjoy their time before and during the time of championship.
The actual golfing event starts on Thursday, but before that, there is a whole range of activities that will take place, leading up to the tee off.
On Monday, the opening ceremony was held, after which the event started officially. After the opening ceremony, Aetna Tournament Players Pro-Am took place.
In this event, golfers gave professional advice and tips on a wide range of golfing activities, such as putting and the like.
On Tuesday, we will see players practicing on the driving range. The tournaments officials have organised carnivals on the driving range for the entertainment of the spectators.
Moreover, there will be an opportunity for the junior golfers to play nine holes alongside the PGA Tour Professionals.
A total of 36 junior golfers, along with their junior caddies, will take part in this event together with PGA Professionals.
Wednesday will bring with it another interesting event, the Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am. The event includes PGA Tour Professionals and celebrities from the world of sport, it will surely be a must-attend event.
After the Celebrity Pro-Am, there will be a concert, music, and refreshments, offering a great time with golfers from around the globe.
On Thursday, the main event will start, the players will be tee off at the tournament.
