Hi! I plan to head to Athens in November, do you have any suggestions where to stay? I want a hotel not to far from all the attractions and that speaks English! Also if you know of any nice places to visit please let me know. Are the metros there easy to use? What kind of money do they use? Any information is appreciated! I know nothing about Greece! Thanks

  1. You will find many people speak English & there will always be someone in the hotels that do. Check out www.venere.com

    www.travelrepublic.co.uk

    www.Booking.com

    www.hotels.com

These all have lots of Athens hotels. Plaka, Monistiraki, Makrigianni & Syntagma are all central to the sites, but that does mean most places aren't cheap. You will find cheaper hotels in Omonia, still not far from the sites, but not the nicest area at night, particularly near to Omonia Square.

There is so much to see & many hotels have a view of the Acropolis which is wonderful at night when it is all lit up.

    The money is the Euro.

I reccommend you buy a good Athens guide book & decide which of the sites, museums, shopping areas etc will interest you.

I will be there again in October!
