Visiting Denver Broncos seek revenge against San Diego Chargers at Qualcomm Stadium – NFL Preview
Six weeks ago Denver Broncos hosted San Diego Chargers. The latter emerged as the winner 29-24. Time passed, and here we are back again. This time, Chargers are hosting and Broncos are seeking revenge.
Both the sides are going to face each other on Sunday at the Qualcomm Stadium in the week 12 battle of the National Football League current season.
Although Chargers were the winners the last time these two sides met, the victory was ensued by dreadful results. Chargers have lost five straight games after the victory, and they are going to enter this game carrying a burden
of defeats at their back.
Things went the other way for Broncos after the loss. They have won four out of five games after the failure against Chargers and will enter the Sunday’s game with a three-game winning streak. No wonders that they are aiming to
stretch that lead.
Broncos have relied heavily on quarterback Tim Tebow for most part of the season, and their trust has been well paid off. Tebow has completed 56 passed of 125 attempts for 709 yards in eight games this season. He also scored seven
touchdowns and made one interception. In the last week victory against New York Jets, he sent nine successful passes of 20 attempts for 104 yards.
"It's hard to explain," Broncos’ wide receiver Eric Decker said about team’s consistent ability to perform well in the final quarter and about the performance of Tebow. "I always say it's that 'It' factor. You either got it or
you don't. It's almost magical, to come in on that last drive of the game and to do the things that he's done to win a game. It's pretty special.”
On the other hand, Chargers have every reason to worry about. They are ranked third in the American Football Conference West division and are up against the side that is placed ahead of them in the division ranking.
Another cause of worry is their losing streak, which they are desperately looking to end. Quarterback Philip Rivers expressed his views about the team’s performance and its chances for the playoffs by saying that competition is
tough and Chargers are going to give their best. He further said that the situation regarding which team would make it to the playoffs from the division would be a bit clarified after the weekend’s game.
"It's rough, but we're going to keep fighting," he said. "I probably can't say this much longer, but as rough as it's been, we're still in it. It may sound crazy at 4-6 on a five-game losing streak, but that's the truth.”
