Visiting Edmonton: Any particular food companies worth applying to?

My friend is going to Edmonton to start a new job. He told me there are a lot of companies out there that need people for jobs that are unadvertised (with better salaries than in BC). I have a Bsc in food science and need a job, and figured I'd check out Edmonton since I can tag along with my friend. Can anybody confirm this? Any good companies to look into?

There would be tons of jobs available to you.  Edmonton is desperate for trained workers in all fields.
