These restaurants are supposed to serve gluten free pasta/pizza/bread:

Venice: Ristorante da Poggi, Rio terrà de La Madalena, 2103. Tel:041.721199

    Florence:

    - Ristorante Circo & Sons, Via del Giglio,26/28r. Tel: 055.289694

    - I Quattri Amici, V. Orti Oricellari , 29. Tel: 055215413

    Rome:

    - Alex Cafe, Via Vittorio Veneto,20. Tel: 06.4823618

    - Tulipano Nero, 15 Via Roma Libera. Tel: 06  581 8309

Call these places (or ask your hotel to do) the day before to verify they have gluten free food. Sometimes they need a day's notice to prepare a gluten free pizza.

This webpage has translation cards you can print out and hand to the waiter: http://www.celiactravel.com/gluten-free-...

You should have plenty of food choices in Italy. Their is much more to Italian cuisine then pizza & pasta. The diet is rich in vegetables. Meat & fish is often served without any sauce or you can simply request it without, "senza sugo" and show them the card that explains for dietary restrictions.

    Have fun!
