Visiting India forever.?

I am visiting India forever with my family from Canada and I want to ask that can I bring my computer there?? Is it legal or illgeal to bring computer? (i am talking about the computer NOT the screen). Also I want to ask that Is it going to work in india??

So you're not visiting but infact moving.  Check regualtions on what can be brought into India, more than likely you will be allowed to bring it.  IF you do you will need to buy a converter and adapter for your computer.  If you don't 1) you won't be able to plug it in, and 2) if you somehow manage to the difference in electrical current will fry your computer.

the scanning rate in canada is not known to me. If not compatible, ur computer will work but not display on indian monitor. Pl check. Alternatively, send all ur files through e mail after buying an indian computer.

Just bring along your data in a hard disc drive or any other storage device.

Buy a new computer ; much cheaper in India.
