  1. According to me, a parisian from always, the most romantic parks are :

    - Place des Vosges, in Le Marais (Métro Saint-Paul)

    - Garden of Palais Royal (Near the Louvre - Métro Palais Royal)

    - Parc Monceau (metro Monceau)

Another romantic place is to go for a walk in the 2 islands in Paris Center : Ile de la Cité and Ile Saint-Louis.

You can also come an visit Place du Tertre in Montmartre (near wher I live). Métro Abbesses and then take the "Funiculaire", to go up until Montmartre which is the highest point of Paris, and from where you have a beautiful sight and many painters and little restaurants.

have a good trip in Paris !

  2. I like Jardin du Luxembourg.  But if you go in the winter, don't expect pretty colors in any of the gardens. It's just not that time of the year.  Take a train to Versailles.  Not too crowded with tourists in the winter.  You have privacy.  Check out the Petit Hameau.

  3. I love the Palais Royal and the Luxembourg gardens.  You could also go to the garden at the Rodin museum and see some good sculptures.

  4. Here is a list of parks and gardens in Paris with a description. You can see which one appeals to you the most:

There are some nice parks in not so nice districts so avoid the north-east of Paris and stay central. Also the woods of Boulogne and Vincennes are nice during the day but at night it's not a good idea because of prostitution. In parks and gardens they usually close the gates after dark.

I'd say you can't go wrong with the Luxembourg and Tuileries gardens.

If you are going soon, it's going to be really cold (pray for an inch of snow to make the gardens look really pretty). Dress warm and then stop somewhere for a nice hot cocoa and pastries.

  5. Bois de Balogne or the Bois de Vincinnes... but go there at night... late at night

  6. You can't throw a rock without hitting a beautiful park in Paris. Just ask the hotel concierge, or really anyone, which are closest.  "Pardonnez-moi monsieur/madame, ou sont des  jardins fameux a pres d'ici?"  (Pardon ay mwa, oo sun day jhar-dan famoo ah pray deecee?)  It's rude to address someone without saying "Bonjour" or "Pardonnez-moi".

Parks are called "parc de ..." or "jardin de ..." (pronounced ZHAR-dan).  ex: Parc des Exposition  , Jardin de Luxembourg, etc
