  1. Change £'s to local, when you arrive. No point in getting Euros; you would be doubling your exchange rate loss, and commission fees.

  2. Its cheaper and easier to use the ATM's. Ive found DMB-Nord to have the lowest fees.

PS. Don't pay for anything with your card, use cash.

  3. Arrive with some currency, the rest you'll change there.

When traveling any where in Europe keep in mind that credit cards don't always work. Cash is King when you need it.

  4. Take €50 Euros here in the UK, so you have something if anything happens (for example ATM out of order Tallinn).

For the rest, like other suggested use your Mastercard, Maestro or Visa to withdraw money or to pay for items while travelling.

Be careful though. I would strongly recommend that you check with your bank what are the charges for using your card abroad. Some banks are very reasonable, some others are really taking the...you know :).

In the line of those new Prepaid cards, Mastercard has released just in time for the summer, their new Prepaid currency card.

They exist in two versions: Euro Currency Prepaid Mastercard or US$ Prepaid mastercard.

They operate in the same way as a prepaid credit card (top up - no credit check) but they are loaded in Euro (€) or USD ($). In most cases, this new prepaid currency card has better exchange rate than most high street bank when using your card abroad.
