  1. I live 60 miles south of TJ, and I would say don't come down here on New Years.

I am sorry but it is just so unsafe in TJ.

If you are going to do it anyways, I would stay at the Hotel Real del Rio but kept secret. Chaek them on tripadvisor and get your reservation Now.

  2. Watch your back, stick together, don't wander.   That is a very dangerous town.

  3. Stay away from that place.I visited Tijuana 2 weeks ago.

    Never again !

  4. TJ: possibly more nightlife fun than US, but also possibly more trouble than US.

TJ is poor dirty unsafe. Many tourists from Europe and Americans get robbed by either pick-pockets or police, sometimes with fake uniform. Police can handcuff and take people with practically no reason in TJ

  5. Find a hotel in San Diego, and take the red trolley straight to the border.  Walk across and travel lightly.  Stay together and do not drink too much.  Take the trolley back to your hotel as soon as you cross the border.  Taxi drivers run the gamut between really good and really bad.  Decide on the fare BEFORE you get in the cab.  Trips from the border to downtown run about ten dollars, and this is not bad if you split the costs.  A good taxi driver will take you to exactly where you want to go.  Avenida Revolucion has some of the better clubs and attractions and it is very close to the border.  I have walked there many times.  Just follow the crowds and you will be there.  Have fun and watch your personal safety.  If you have someone in your group who speaks Spanish, so much the better.

  6. I live in Tijuana, just part of what is written here is truth, most of the young visitors go to the worst places because they are famous like Tijuana Revolucion Ave, Downtown, etc. I am tired to see drunk boys and girls, all crazy, dancing, drinking, with miniskirts, no shirts, flirting with all and every Mexican they see and they do not mind a bit who they are accepting at that drinking night just to end up crying the next day because they got so crazy at the worst places to do it that they got robbed, the less, raped and or killed. If you are coming it is more important to behave, drink moderately, stay away from down town and stay with your group. You come to a foreign country where we all see you as crazy people looking for party, s*x and drugs, that is the opinion we have on this side of the border regarding the youngsters who come over to Revolucion dancing and drinking places, it might not be like that but your behavior once you are there, makes bad people think that you are asking for what you get.

We, the locals rarely go to those places... think about it

  7. Hello, I live in Tijuana, recommend to you to go to Pueblo amigo, are many bars and good music, the Av. Revolucion and the downtown is not recommendable, you got more fun  in bars like Señor Frogs, Pueblo amigo, also is hotel there, enjoy your visit.

  8. i can't answer all of your questions, but i do think it's better to get the hotel in san diego and walk.  the clubs start directly after the border...you just walk across the little bridge thing.  it's always better to go in large groups and STAY in your group!!!  don't go off by yourself because in this area it's SOOOO common to get robbed, taken, or assulted because there are so many drunk people.  most of the clubs have great hiphop and reggaeton.  hopefully someone else can reccomend a specific club for you.

  9. At Night Revolucion turns into the longest bar in the world spilling over with Tequila and Cervezas. Shop keepers lockup and go home as do most of the street venders Revolution Bars, Night Clubs and Strip Clubs turn on their bright neon lights and crank up the music and get ready for another night of dancing and partying till dawn.  You can stay at the Camino Real in TJ it is super nice.  Cabs are everywhere, just make sure you negotiate the price before getting in.  I would rather be in Rosarito than TJ for News Years.  Rosarito is cleaner, less crime and police corruption and the club Papas and Beer is a all night party destination.  They play hip hop and almost all clubs.

  10. CELEBRATING THE NEW YEARS DOWN IN MEXICO IS NOT RECOMENDED CAUSE PEOPLE DO SHOOT THEIR GUNS  TO THE AIR AND  WHEN THEY FALL DOWN, THEY HIT INNOCENT PEOPLE.

A FRIEND OF MINE WAS KILLED JUST CELEBRATING AND WHILE HAVING A DRINK, THE BULLET  HIT HIM AND DIED. they took him to the general hospital which should be the cemmentary.

ALOT OF THINGS HAVE HAPPEND AND IT IS BETTER TO GO  NON FESTIVE DAYS.

IF YOU WANT TO GO STILL,  THE CLUBS IN THE FAMOUS TOURIST STREET OF REVOLUCION revolution  YOU CAN PARK NEAR THE BORDER AND A BUS WILL TAKE YOU INTO MEXICO AND BRING YOU BACK.  THEY ARE HOTEL'S WITH SUITE ROOMS IN SAN YSIDRO the city near the mexican border.

IT IS MUCH BETTER AND SAFER TO STAY IN THE USA SIDE.

IF YOU DECIDE TO DRIVE INTO MEXICO,,,,  HAVE A SOBBER DRIVER.  THAT PERSON CAN NOT EVEN HAVE 1 BEER. NOTHING.  AND EVERYBODY NEED TO HAVE A PASSPORT. U.S. PASSPORT'S  ARE GOING TO BE REQUIRED  BEFORE 2008 START'S.

I HOPE I HAVE HELPED, IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, LET ME KNOW.  TAKE CARE.
