Hi,

My wife and I will be traveling to Toronto in our car next summer and need a reasonably priced hotel or motel to stay while we're there. My friend Wes lives on The West Mall in Etobicoke and we would, preferably, like to stay near there but we don't mind driving 10 minutes or whatever to get to his place.

The idea is for us to use our car in Toronto as little as possible, relying mainly on the TTC to get around, especially to the downtown area.

My parents stayed at the Valhalla Inn (on the East Mall, just a short walk from the West Mall) a few years ago on vacation but it was kinda pricey. We hope to stay for a week, maybe two weeks?

Thanks.

We don't really need anything fancy and don't mind anything on the cheap side like Days Inn.

  1. During my last trip I came across a website called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com . It has quite a large variety of hotels. You might wanna give it a try.

  2. Ask your friend Wes to check the motels along Dundas street, in Mississauaga, just  to the west of where he lives. There are two or three in a row that are  budegt priced and they are  less than 10 minutes from his address. One is called the York Gate motel.

You can get a discount if you stay that long, ask about it.

Forget the Vahalla , it;'s way too expensive , for a  two week stay. Nice place to eat though.

Here is a tip, you can park for free, at the Toronto Transit Commission's Kipling Subway station parking lot. That station is less than a 10 minute drive from motels I mentioned.

Buy a " Day Pass " from the ticket collector at the Kipling station, or buy a  "  7 day  pass ". Either way, the TTC pass is the very best way to get around Toronto. as it alows unlimited use, all day on any route, bus, streetcar, or subway.

Here is the TTC website link :

Enjoy your visit to my city.
