Visiting Turkey for 8 days. What should I see in Turkey other than Istanbul?

I'm pretty clear on the most important things in Istanbul, but I have no idea what to see outside of the city. Can any locals help?

If you've only got 8 days you won't even be able to do justice to Istanbul. However, if you feel you must go elsewhere why not go to Canakkale (5.5 hours away) from where you can tour Troy, the battlefields of Gallipoli and go to Assos for some village atmosphere and sea?

you can go bursa its pretty close . you can go edirne.   both locations are good.

i d recommend you to go to an ancient church to cleanse your soul.Ä°t s St. Pier cave church in Antakya.

Ä°t s so important to the christians cause after Jesus was hanged on the cross the ones who distribute his word came here and set it up.Ä° guess their leader was Pier that s why it s name is St Pier.
